Bijou is an almost 2 year old shepherd mix. She is a very loving, loyal and healthy dog. Bijou knows how to sit to say please and walks well with a head halter. She will lie down for a treat. She has been working on coming when called, and will do so most of the time, but still needs work focusing on her people instead of those crazy squirrels! Whoever becomes her number one human will be rewarded with tons of dog love and many dog kisses! Bijou is a cuddly little girl who loves to give kisses and stay close to her person. She loves to play and chew on her toys, but she settles down quickly and craves the companionship of people and other dogs. Bijou is eager to learn whatever she needs to learn to fit into her family. This means that she is doing great walking on the leash, and responding to basic commands. She would do best with someone who can give her lots of guidance to build up her confidence. But when she feels comfortable, she's a typical happy dog who plays hard and snuggles hard. For the fastest response, please submit an application. The Yolo SPCA is a volunteer run organization and are only able to call back if the dog would be a good match for your family based on the information received from the volunteer foster families). All of our canines are altered (spayed & neutered), puppies are started on their shots, adults are up to date and have been heart worm tested (negative) and all dogs are micro chipped. The adoption fee is $175 (which covers all of these costs). THERE IS NO SHELTER FOR YOU TO VISIT BECAUSES WE ARE A FOSTER BASED ORGANIZATION.
